A Happy Deke X Baby Owner
I was completely freaked out as this was my first dog, I'm single and in the Army (with little time), and had little clue as to
what I was doing.  Knowing how clueless I was - I read a lot prior to "Loki" coming home in an attempt to be ready for
anything.

John Fish, the breeder, was great.  He facilitated my every whim - lots of questions and lots of repeated questions I'm
sure.  He was there whenever I wanted to visit and play with Loki prior to her weaning.  His knowledge re-assured me
even further that I could do this. On 25 December 2005 Loki came home with me.

Aside from a little whining on Loki's first night with me she has been the most wonderful puppy anyone could ask for.
Everyday she greets me with wiggles and slobbers of joy!  Everyday she surprises me with something new.  With the
knowledge I gained from John and the reading I did she was potty trained within 4 weeks!  In no time she learned to sit,
stay, down, come, fetch, and even shake!  She's now learning how to crawl and balance a treat on her muzzle.

I'm not a hunter so Loki is not learning to run birds - but I'm an avid runner, cross country skier, hiker, and mountain
biker.  Once Loki was 3 months old she started running with me daily.  We run in the streets and the woods.  On the
streets she stays on my left with a loose leash... rarely pulls.  In the woods she runs free chasing squirrels and birds
(nearly catching them), but never runs far from me.  She's always turning her head to make sure I'm in her sight.  She is
a joy to run with!  She's been out with me skiing and mountain biking has never strayed.  She's quickly becoming my
adventure buddy.  As for down time - she knows how to relax too.  With the daily exercise she gets she is a very relaxed
puppy in the evenings.  I've never heard her bark.  She sleeps in her crate every night next to my bed and enters it on
command.

Loki is great with children (I'm careful with small kids though as Loki is strong and playful) and other dogs and even
...cats.  She is a little over 5 months old and I have no regrets.  I'm looking forward to her reaching adulthood so she
can go hiking in the Adirondacks with me.  Loki is great and I'd recommend her breed to anyone who has the time and
the energy for a good friend and companion.

John,

Can't begin to tell you how happy we are!!  I went down the road and took
him for a long walk with Fitz( old trainers trick)....Tired him right out.
I place a few barriers in the kennel,  threw Fitz in the front seat and of
we went,  Hank slept the entire ride home.  I didn't tell John the dog was
in the kennel, sent him to unload the car,  when he opened the kennel...well
it was better than Christmas.  He had a" chick moment ". He hasn't left his
sight since.  Last night not a peep,  I checked on them at about 10:30pm,
the pup was in bed with him.  John made some puppy retrieve toys and has him
retrieving to hand three room lengths!!  So as you can see your efforts have
made a young boy very happy,  for that I am ever grateful. To me there is
nothing better than looking out the window and seeing a boy and a dog. We
will keep you posted.

Thanks again
